Question My understanding women's shoes (which I must admit is limited) is that "kitten" designates a height of heel (as opposed to "low" or "high"), whereas "block" designates a type of heel (as opposed to "stiletto", "flat", or "cone"). In this way, you can have block kitten heels (or stiletto kitten heels, or wedge kitten heels, etc.). The article in which the image was being used indicated height as the only measure of "kittenness" in a heel, and the manufacturer of this shoe identifies it as a kitten heel.
