Our Take

The Ekrin B37 is a mid-amplitude massage gun built around a 12mm stroke length and 56 lbs of stall force. It runs from 1400 to 3200 RPM on five speed levels and does not slow down when you press into the muscle.

The 15-degree angled handle is more than a design detail. It reduces wrist strain compared to straight T-shaped handles. During 10 to 15-minute sessions, we did not experience the usual wrist fatigue that comes from twisting your arm into awkward positions to reach different muscle groups.

There is no Bluetooth, no LCD display, and no app integration. The handle also feels slightly thick for users with smaller hands. Those are real trade-offs to consider. On the other hand, the 5 to 6-hour battery life is excellent, and the Samsung battery cell gives extra confidence that the performance will hold up over time.

If you care more about consistent physical performance than connected features or brand ecosystems, the B37 is a strong, well-priced option backed by a lifetime warranty. If you’re comparing it against other top-rated models, it also helps to see how the strongest massage guns we’ve tested compare across the category.

Our Deep Honest Ekrin B37 Massage Gun Review

[wp-review id=”3258″]

Unboxing, Build Quality, and First Impressions

The B37 arrives in a hard-shell carrying case with dual zippers and neatly organized compartments. The case feels sturdy and protective, which is a noticeable upgrade over the soft pouches that often come with devices in this range.

Inside the case, you will find the massage gun, four attachments secured in designated slots, a charging cable, a user manual, and an Ekrin logo sticker. The manual is 86 pages long with illustrations and practical guidance on attachment use and general percussion therapy basics.

The device itself looks polished. The satin black finish gives it a more premium appearance than the price suggests. In hand, it feels solid and well-built, without the flex or soft plastic feel that shows up in lower-cost models.

Build Quality & Design Improvements

Let’s take a look at the build and design of this model.

Frame and Grip Design

Ekrin’s 15-degree angled handle makes a difference almost immediately. It reduces wrist strain during sessions and makes it easier to reach different muscle groups without contorting your arm.

The angled shape also allows for a comfortable two-handed grip thanks to a small extension at the top of the handle. This comes in handy when treating someone else or when applying firm pressure that requires extra stability.

Weight and Balance

At 2.2 lbs, the B37 sits comfortably in the middle of the full-size weight range. It does not feel heavy during normal session lengths.

Balance feels neutral from different grip positions. While the motor and Samsung battery likely account for most of the internal weight, the distribution avoids a top-heavy feel and does not cause unnecessary fatigue.

Materials and Build Quality

The housing uses quality plastic with a satin black finish and silicone rubber grip sections on the handle. There are no metal accents or premium overlays, but the construction feels durable and consistent throughout.

The handle diameter is slightly large. Our testers with smaller hands noticed this more than others. The textured silicone helps prevent slipping, but users with shorter fingers should take this into account.

Across multiple sessions under sustained pressure, we noticed no rattling, creaking, or vibration transfer to the handle.

Ekrin B37 Massage Gun Attachments

Four attachments come with the B37: a ball head, bullet head, flat head, and fork head. The selection covers most standard recovery needs without venturing into specialty territory.

Ekrin B37 With Attachment Heads

The ball head uses high-quality EVA foam that feels smoother and more durable than the foam used in many lower-cost devices. The fork and bullet heads are made from hard plastic and have shown minimal wear after six months of regular use.

Attachment System

Attachments use a push-and-pull system. The fork head has directional guidance, while the other three can be inserted in any orientation. Installation is simple, though our smaller-handed testers needed slightly more effort when removing them.

During sessions, attachments stayed secure with no wobbling or loosening under pressure.

Standout Attachments

The flat head ended up being our most-used attachment. Its firm plastic construction works well across large muscle groups like pecs, glutes, and calves. It keeps its shape under pressure and spreads force effectively across a wider surface area.

The fork head includes a small guide notch that prevents it from rotating during use along the spine. That small design detail matters when targeting paraspinal muscles, where precise positioning makes a difference.

Controls and Display

A single button controls everything. A long press powers the device on or off, and quick presses cycle through the five speed levels in order.

The setup is straightforward and stays simple during use. There are no extra buttons to manage and no multi-step menus to navigate. If you prefer a clean, uncomplicated operation, this design works well.

Speed Indicators

Five LED lights below the power button indicate the current speed level and battery charge. There is no LCD display, no detailed readout, and no pressure sensor.

The LEDs provide enough information to operate the device confidently. Users who want an OLED screen showing exact RPM numbers or applied force metrics will miss that level of detail, but the minimalist design keeps distractions to a minimum.

Our Test Data and Performance

Percussion Depth and Pressure

We measured a 12mm amplitude, confirming the advertised spec. This places the B37 in the mid-amplitude category among full-size massage guns compared with devices designed around deeper stroke length for aggressive muscle treatment.

Stall force reached 56 lbs at maximum speed. Across the five levels, we measured approximately 28 lbs at speed one, 32 lbs at speed two, 40 lbs at speed three, 52 lbs at speed four, and 55 lbs at the top setting. At higher speeds, it takes deliberate, heavy pressure to stall the motor.

It also stands out among massage guns that deliver strong performance without pushing into premium pricing. The combination of 12mm amplitude and 56 lbs stall force produces solid deep-tissue output. The motor does not noticeably slow when you apply pressure, which keeps sessions consistent without needing to constantly adjust speed. While not the absolute strongest in the category, it competes closely with devices like the D6 Pro that prioritize maximum stall force for deep tissue work.

Stall Force

The Ekrin B37 maintains steady percussion under load across all five speeds. Many massage guns lose momentum when you press into the muscle. This one keeps working at the same intensity, which makes sessions feel more effective and predictable.

The 12mm stroke length provides enough depth for most muscle groups when supported by a strong stall force. It will not match longer-stroke devices in pure penetration, but the wider speed range and sustained power balance things out well for general recovery.

The angled handle made it easier to reach about 90 percent of muscle groups without awkward positioning. Lower back, upper traps, and glutes were noticeably easier to treat compared to straight-handle designs that strain the wrist.

Speed Range and Control

We measured 1400 RPM at the lowest speed and 3200 RPM at maximum, matching the advertised range exactly. That lower starting speed is especially useful. Many devices begin around 1750 RPM or higher, which can feel too aggressive for sensitive areas or warm-up work.

Five speed levels offer solid control with well-spaced increments. Speed changes happen smoothly with quick button presses and no sudden jumps.

Noise Level

In our testing environment with 35 dB background noise, we recorded 48.8 dB at the lowest speed and 60.9 dB at maximum. Ekrin advertises 35 to 55 dB, which is slightly optimistic. In practice, the device is still quiet enough for home use without disturbing others in nearby rooms. If lower noise matters during recovery sessions, it may also help to look at some of the quieter massage guns we have tested.

The sound profile is smooth and consistent, with no harsh mechanical tones or rattling under pressure. Vibration transfer to the handle is minimal, which helps keep longer sessions comfortable.

Battery Life

The 2550 mAh Samsung lithium-ion battery delivered between 5 and 6 hours of runtime under mixed speeds and moderate pressure. Ekrin’s advertised 4 to 6 hours aligns with what we experienced. With daily 10-minute sessions, you can expect more than 10 days between charges.

The use of a Samsung cell is meaningful. We have tested devices with unbranded batteries that showed noticeable degradation within months. After six months of testing the B37, performance remains consistent with no measurable drop in runtime.

The B37 charges via USB-C, replacing the micro-USB used in earlier versions. This keeps it aligned with current charging standards and eliminates the need for proprietary cables.

The battery is non-removable, so you cannot swap in a fresh one mid-session. The hard-shell case adds some bulk but provides solid protection during transport. At 2.2 lbs plus the case, the kit remains manageable for most travel needs.

Who Should Buy it?

The B37 is a strong choice for users who care most about core performance metrics. If stall force, amplitude, and speed range matter more to you than Bluetooth or app-based routines, this device delivers without locking you into a brand ecosystem.

Athletes and regular gym-goers will find the power sufficient for post-training recovery on large muscle groups. The 56 lbs stall force and 3200 RPM top speed handle quads, glutes, back, and calves without feeling weak. In our testing across all these areas, the motor held up consistently.

First-time buyers should give it serious consideration. It also stands out among the better price-to-performance options in the category. The single-button operation keeps things simple, the build quality exceeds expectations at this price, and the lifetime warranty lowers long-term risk. It is not something most users will outgrow quickly.

Who Should Skip it?

Skip the B37 if maximum amplitude is your top priority. The 12mm stroke length will not satisfy users specifically seeking 14 to 16mm for aggressive deep-tissue penetration on dense muscle groups. If portability matters more than maximum depth, compact massage guns designed specifically for travel and lighter recovery may be a better fit.

If you want connected features, this is not the right model. There is no Bluetooth, no app integration, no guided routines, and no pressure sensor display. The B37 focuses entirely on physical performance.

Users with smaller hands may find the handle diameter uncomfortable over longer sessions. Ekrin’s 365 model offers a slimmer grip, though with some trade-offs in power. If possible, it is worth testing the grip before committing.

Final Verdict

The Ekrin B37 delivers strong, consistent performance at a price well below many devices with similar specifications. The 56 lbs stall force, 3200 RPM maximum speed, and 5 to 6 hour battery life are standout figures in this range. After six months of testing, performance remains steady, and the Samsung battery cell adds confidence in long-term durability.

The 12mm amplitude does set a limit for users who want maximum penetration depth, and the lack of connected features will matter to some. The handle size is also a real consideration for smaller-handed users.

If you want reliable, measurable performance without extra tech features or premium pricing, and you value lifetime warranty coverage, the B37 is a well-built and thoughtfully designed option.

Our Take

The Ekrin Bantam is a compact massage gun built around an 8mm amplitude and 35 lbs of stall force. It runs from 2000 to 3200 RPM on three speed levels. For a device that weighs just 1.1 lbs and stands about six inches tall, it is genuinely easy to carry around.

If you’re comparing compact options across brands, you can also see how this model stacks up against the other mini massage guns we’ve tested so far.

Ekrin carried over the 15-degree angled handle from its full-size lineup, which reduces wrist strain compared to straight T-shaped designs. The build feels solid and well put together. The single-button interface keeps things simple, although it means you rely on sound and feel to know what speed you are on rather than a visual display.

Battery life is one of the standout features. The 1600 mAh Samsung cell delivered between 4 and 6 hours of runtime in our testing, which translates to roughly a week of daily 15-minute sessions before needing a charge. Four attachments and a compact hard case are included, making it a more complete package than many devices in this size range.

The 7.84mm amplitude works well for general recovery on calves, arms, and shoulders. It is not designed for aggressive deep-tissue sessions on large muscle groups like quads and glutes. If you understand that limitation going in, the Bantam performs consistently within its intended range. Some compact devices prioritize amplitude instead of stall force, such as the Theragun Mini that focuses on deeper stroke length in a smaller body.

Our Deep Honest Ekrin Bantam Mini Massage Gun Review

[wp-review id=”3421″]

Unboxing, Build Quality, and First Impressions

The Bantam comes in a compact two-zipper carrying case that fits easily into gym bags or backpacks. The case feels durable and well-organized inside, and it holds up well for regular travel use.

Inside the case, you get the massage gun, four attachments, a USB-C charging cable, an instruction pamphlet, and an Ekrin logo sticker. The manual clearly explains attachment use and covers the basics of percussion therapy.

The device itself uses high-quality matte plastic similar to Ekrin’s full-size models. It feels solid in hand, not flimsy or hollow. The power button sits at the base of the handle instead of near the top, which feels slightly unusual at first, but quickly becomes second nature.

Build Quality & Design Improvements

Let’s take a look at the build and design of this model.

Frame and Grip Design

ekrin bantam massage gun

Ekrin kept the 15-degree angled handle from its larger models. That angle helps reduce wrist strain compared to standard T-shaped compact designs and makes the Bantam more comfortable during longer sessions.

The handle has enough texture to feel secure without adding a separate rubber coating. A silicone layer would have improved grip even more, but in normal use, the surface does not feel slippery.

Weight and Balance

At 1.1 lbs, the Bantam is lightweight without feeling fragile. It is easy to use for extended periods without noticeable arm fatigue.

The compact size, around six inches tall, makes it comparable to most smartphones in height. It fits easily in gym bags, carry-on luggage, and even larger jacket pockets.

Materials and Build Quality

The housing uses the same matte plastic found on Ekrin’s full-size devices. There are no metal accents or premium overlays, but everything feels durable and well assembled.

Ekrin Bantam Mini Massage Gun Attachments

Four attachments come with the Bantam: a ball head, flat head, fork head, and bullet head. This is a more versatile set than many mini massage guns that only include two or three options.

The ball head uses hollow silicone instead of foam, which should hold up better over time. The flat, fork, and bullet heads are made of hard plastic.

Attachment Compatibility

Attachments use a simple push-and-pull system. The fork head includes guidance to ensure proper orientation, while the other three install without needing alignment.

They slide in and out easily and stay secure during sessions. We did not experience loosening or rattling under pressure.

ekrin bantam mini massage gun

Standout Attachments

The flat head has a silicone top cover that softens impact while the firm plastic base keeps its structure. That makes it useful across a wide range of muscle groups and pressure preferences.

The fork head, made of hard plastic, works well along the spine and around the Achilles tendon. Its shape helps keep it from rotating during use.

Controls and Display

A single button at the base of the handle controls all functions. There is no LCD display or LED speed indicator beyond a simple power light. The minimalist approach keeps the design clean and uncluttered. A long press powers the device on or off, and quick presses cycle through the three speeds.

Speed Indicators

There is no LCD screen and no dedicated LED speed indicators. The only light shows that the device is powered on.

The difference in intensity between the three levels is clear enough that you can identify the speed by feel and sound. Users who prefer visual confirmation at a glance may miss having a display.

Battery Indicator

An LED at the base shows battery level through color changes. Blue indicates 80 to 100 percent charge, purple shows 60 to 80 percent, red indicates 20 to 60 percent, and flashing red signals below 20 percent.

This setup gives you enough information to manage charging without complicating the simple interface.

Our Test Data and Performance

Percussion Depth and Pressure

We measured roughly 8mm of amplitude, just slightly under the advertised figure. In the mini category, where many devices operate at 6 to 8mm, this puts the Bantam near the top for stroke length compared with massage guns designed to deliver deeper percussion for stronger muscle treatment.

Stall force reaches 35 lbs at maximum speed. We measured about 28 lbs at the lowest setting, 32 lbs at mid-level, and 35 lbs at the highest speed. For a compact device, that is a meaningful pressure capacity.

Stall Force

The combination of 7.84mm amplitude and 35 lbs of stall force makes the Bantam effective within the realistic limits of a compact device. It handles calves, arms, shoulders, and lighter leg work well. You can use it on larger muscle groups like quads and glutes, but heavy sustained pressure will eventually slow the motor.

We brought the Bantam on a two-day hiking trip covering 30 miles with 8500 feet of elevation gain. We used it every 6 to 8 miles and again at the end of each day. It noticeably reduced next-morning soreness, and its light weight made it easy to carry without adding bulk.

Under moderate pressure, percussion stays consistent. It takes more force to stall it than most mini devices, though heavy-handed sessions on large muscle groups can still reach its limit.

Speed Range and Control

We measured 2000 RPM at the lowest setting, 2600 RPM at mid-level, and 3200 RPM at maximum using a laser tachometer. That matches Ekrin’s published range and is strong output for a compact unit.

Three speeds cover most practical needs. The steps between levels feel well spaced and not overly abrupt. A fourth level would give finer control, but the current setup works for most recovery routines.

Noise Level

The Bantam runs at around 50 dB during typical use and climbs slightly above 60 dB at maximum speed. For a compact massage gun, it is fairly quiet. If low noise matters during recovery sessions, it may also help to look at some of the quieter massage guns we have tested.

We did not need to turn up the TV during evening sessions. There was no rattling under pressure, and vibration transfer to the handle remained minimal, both of which are common issues in this category.

Battery Life

The 1600 mAh Samsung battery delivered between 4 and 6 hours of runtime in our no-load testing, depending on speed and pressure. With daily 15-minute sessions, you can expect one to two weeks between charges, or 95 minutes of moderate use, as measured.

The fact that Ekrin specifies a Samsung cell matters. We have tested compact devices with unbranded batteries that showed noticeable degradation within months. Samsung’s track record makes the long-term battery claim more reassuring.

massage gun battery charger

The Bantam charges via USB-C using the included three-foot cable. No wall adapter is included, so you will use a standard phone charger or laptop port.

The LED indicator shows charge status in real time without turning the device on. At 1.1 lbs with its compact case, the Bantam remains highly portable for travel, gym use, or daily commuting without feeling bulky.

Who Should Buy it?

The Bantam is a great fit for users who want real portability without sacrificing too much performance. Frequent travelers, gym-goers, and anyone who needs something that fits easily into carry-on luggage or a jacket pocket will appreciate its size and consistency.

Active users looking for post-workout recovery on the go will find enough power for lighter muscle maintenance and soreness management. The 35 lbs stall force and 3200 RPM top speed handle that role well. Our hiking test confirmed it performs reliably under daily use away from home.

The lifetime warranty is also a strong advantage at this price point. Most compact massage guns offer one year of coverage. Lifetime protection significantly improves long-term value.

Who Should Skip it?

Skip the Bantam if you want aggressive deep-tissue work on large muscle groups. The 7.84mm amplitude and compact motor are not built for sustained heavy pressure on quads, glutes, or back muscles. A full-size device is better suited for that.

If you prefer four or more speed levels, the three-speed system may feel limiting. It handles most general use cases, but it does not offer fine-grained control.

Users who rely on visual speed confirmation may also miss having a display. The Bantam offers no speed readout beyond the basic power light, so you depend entirely on sound and feel.

ekrin bantam massage gun review

Final Verdict

The Ekrin Bantam delivers performance that stands out in the compact category. With 35 lbs of stall force, a 3200 RPM ceiling, and 4 to 6 hours of battery life, it performs above what most devices this size can manage. The four attachments, hard carry case, and lifetime warranty round out a thoughtful and complete package.

The 7.84mm amplitude does limit deep-tissue potential, and the three-speed system will not suit everyone. The lack of a display takes some getting used to. These are expected compromises in a truly compact device.

If portability is your top priority and you still want consistent recovery power on the go, the Bantam is a well-executed and dependable option.

Unboxing the Ekrin Kestrel: First Impressions

Opening any Ekrin Athletics package has been a pleasure ever since we first reviewed the Ekrin B37 massage gun early in 2021.

As expected, the packaging is a familiar carrying case, consistent with what we’ve seen before. It feels protective and will do the job. We thought it’d be bigger (not for any particular reason), but it looks compact.

What’s inside the case? Well, the usual suspects are there – the massage gun smack in the middle, surrounded by six massage gun attachments (we’ll cover them later) and a USB-C cable. To the side of the case, there is a detailed user manual/Kestrel instructions, along with a thoughtful ‘thank you’ card.

What about the Ekrin Athletics Kestrel massage gun itself? It screams Ekrin Athletics through and through. And you know what? We love it. They’ve stuck with the same design that’s always been a winner for them. I mean, why mess with a good thing?

But wait, there has to be something new, right? Yes, the top metal ring with textured sides stands out here, as does the color (we’ll mention this again in a second). We also have new controls – that’s something!

The materials used to make this massage gun feel superb, not that Ekrin Athletics has ever been underwhelming. This is why we’ve always placed them on par with Theragun and Hypervolt sports massagers.

What’s with the metal ring at the top? Is it actually metal? Yes, it is. And can we talk about that satin-colored black plastic? Smooth, sleek, and oh-so-nice to the touch.

Our take:
The same sleek and modern design as always. And oh, the new improvements? Superb!

Potential Improvements: What Could Be Better?

Just for us, a somewhat different approach to color. In the past, Ekrin Athletics dazzled us with those charming pastel hues. But this time around, it’s gone over to the dark side—black. Or is it a sneaky dark shade of blue? We’ll leave that up to you to decide.

From left to right: Ekrin Bantam mini massage gun, Ekrin 365, Ekrin B37, Ekrin Kestrel and Ekrin B37S.

Ekrin Athletics: five different colorful massage guns laying on a table one behind the other one from left to right
Which one is your favorite color? Let us know in the comments!

Now, black is classic, no doubt, but it feels a tad Theragun-y or even Hypervolt-y. Are they dipping their toes into mainstream waters? Hey, maybe that’s what the majority craves; we can’t judge that. But we, in our little corner, were hoping they’d stick to their unique color palette.

The choice of black also starkly contrasts with the chrome bezel at the top. Maybe this is ideal for some people, but we’re not entirely sold on it. Are we throwing the baby with the bath water here? Absolutely not. Who buys a sports massager for the color, anyway?

Ekrin Kestrel Size and Weight: Compact Power

We love that the manufacturer didn’t change the compact size. In fact, if you place their four massage gun models side by side, they look like a set of well-behaved quadruplets. I mean, sure, maybe the Ekrin B37S is the slightly taller sibling—who said quadruplets can’t have a bit of size diversity? The only really smaller one is the Ekrin Bantam mini massage gun.

The Kestrel weighs 2.2 pounds. Compared to the B37S, the difference is negligible, approximately 2.7 ounces or about 77 grams.

Ergonomic Design of the Ekrin Kestrel

Here again, the manufacturer chose to keep the slanted handle design we’ve always associated with them. It’s a familiar handshake – comfortable, keeping the wrist happy during the percussive therapy experience, and with a natural extension so you can treat pain in lower back and buttocks.

Is it just the same old same old? Well, it is. But there’s more.

  • The rubber handle is now textured for a better grip. If you have used your massage gun for a massage after workout, you know how tough it can be to get a quick DIY and best deep tissue massage. Sweaty hands and a slipping handle can be a mess. This isn’t a problem anymore here.
  • Remember the textured metal bezel at the top; it’s not just decorative, as we thought earlier. Ekrin Athletics noticed a little quirk in how people hold their massage guns. Sometimes, you grab the top part for certain angles or when you’re doubling down on pressure. But sweaty palms could turn that into a slip-and-slide party. The textured metal bezel provides a firmer grip at the top to nullify this problem. This improves the ergonomics and keeps the sports massager decent for longer. Unlike plastic, metal will likely still look okay after a hundred uses.
  • The control setup has also been redesigned with ergonomics in mind. Instead of making the bezel do the controlling, the manufacturer opted to hide the controls elsewhere. Why? Keep away the accidental speed changes mid-massage. They say, “You focus on the massage; we’ve got the controls sorted.” Smart move.

Our Take:

Ekrin Athletics definitely listens to their customers (and hey, maybe some of our readers too).

They didn’t just keep the good things that the predecessor Ekrin B37S has; they also added notable improvements to make this new sports massager easy to use and highly ergonomic. It is also now smaller than its predecessor. Well done!

Ekrin Kestrel Controls: Simplicity Meets Functionality

Usually, we don’t need a whole section for controls, but this one is different. Let’s examine what has changed here.

First, the controls here are different from the Ekrin B37S massage gun (which we believe is what the Ekrin Kestrel is replacing). The Kestrel doesn’t have any standard buttons. Instead, the control is now a small scrolling wheel perched at the top. See the photos.

Operation is a Sunday stroll. Press the wheel down to turn the sports massager on or off. The rest of the operation happens when you scroll the wheel. You can scroll up to increase the speed and vice versa. Simple and intuitive.

The LED structure that indicates the current speed also differs because of the scroll wheel. There are 6 LEDs (the vertical line at the top of the scroll) that indicate speeds.

The light color changes depending on the speed, which makes it easy to quickly identify at what speed the sports massager has been set. The colors used are green for the first two speeds, yellow for the two medium speeds, and purple for the highest two speeds.

The four visible blue dot LEDs below the wheel are battery charge indicators.

Our take:

This is not the first massage gun we’ve seen with a dial. Hypervolt 2 and 2 Pro both have it—we love both—but unlike these two, the whole panel isn’t rotatable, so you only need your thumb to control it.

We also like this approach because there are no accidental rotations, which is a problem we noticed with the two Hypervolt massager guns. Also, the fact that you can change speeds by simply rotating the dial up or down is fantastic. It is certainly an upgrade from the button presses to cycle-through speeds.

The Ekrin Kestrel massage gun is now very easy to use, and the dial feels intuitive. Plus, scrolling up and down also feels nice and rewarding.

Any cons? Well, perhaps the only criticism of this new system is the missing click feedback when rotating the wheel. It’s not a big deal, as you can see from the change in the LEDs and how the sports massager operates, but it would add an extra UX touch.

Massage Gun Attachments: Versatility at Your Fingertips

The Kestrel comes with six massage gun attachments.

All Six Ekrin Kestrel massage gun Attachment; Heads lined up from left to right
Six attachments. We think it’s the perfect set as none is duplicating another.

Let’s look at each one, starting with something fresh.

Air Cushion Head: Soothing Soft-Tissue Relief

(Soft Silicone)

This is the first time we’ve seen an Ekrin Athletics with this type of head. It’s no surprise since the whole market has been crying for more sports massagers to include this head for a softer trigger point massage.

At first, we confused it with the flat head, which appears almost entirely flat. But our doubts were cleared when we touched it.

It’s pleasantly soft but not too soft that it would wobble on your body—just enough to do the job. Three ridges form indentations in the middle, providing an additional trigger point massage effect, which we found very pleasant.

This massage gun attachment is suitable for soft tissues, achy joints, and muscles. But not only. Most people will love this one. It could be the new universal tip.

Ball/Round Head: All-Purpose Muscle Massage

(Soft Silicone)

This one’s suitable for large muscle groups, such as sore legs. It’s slightly different from what we are used to with the Ekrin B37/B37S.

The tip is now silicone instead of foam. It also feels softer than the previous iterations. For a hard massager, this massage gun attachment will soften the impact and make it more bearable; this one works just fine.

Cone Head: Pinpoint Precision for Best Deep Tissue Massage

(Plastic with Silicone Tip)

The cone can also work on large muscle groups, including the arms, waist, back, and legs. Its tip is also covered with silicone, making it perfect for trigger point therapy.

When we first saw the cone head in Theragun attachments, it felt like a less aggressive bullet head. We think the same about this one.

Fork Head: Perfect for Spine and Neck

(Hard Plastic)

This one works on the lumbar vertebrae and other large muscle groups. It also works on the Achilles. You could argue this one’s slightly larger and fancier than the one with the B37S, but maybe it’s just us.

Flat Head: Broad Coverage and Muscle Activation

(Plastic)

This attachment can work on most parts of the body. It’s still the same hard plastic we’re used to, but this time, Ekrin Athletics has added a glossy shell. It doesn’t just look nice and shiny; it actually glides better than other massage gun attachments on clothes and skin.

Bullet Head: Intense Focus on Trigger Points

(Hard Plastic)

This one gives you the best deep tissue massage suitable for deep muscle groups like shoulder blades. You can also use it on the plantar. It’s also made of hard plastic.

Our Take:

Six massage gun attachments are a good number. It feels like we have heads to massage all parts of the body.

You can now have a gentle percussive therapy massage with the Air Cushion head whenever needed.

The locking mechanism is Twist-On/Off instead of the common push-pull type, which often causes a rattling noise during operation. We vastly prefer this solution.

Ekrin Kestrel Performance: Power Meets Precision

Now, let’s get to the business part of our review. How does this sports massager perform?

Stroke Length/Amplitude: Effective Muscle Penetration

Note: Stroke length is the distance the head travels as the sports massager percusses. Here’s more on this.

The Ekrin Kestrel’s amplitude is about a third longer than its predecessor, the B37S. We finally have an Ekrin Athletics massage gun with more than 12mm amplitude!

The specs said 13mm, and our eyes got as big as saucers. We took out our caliper for confirmation. We measured 12.8mm, about a 0.2mm difference, which is negligible. It could just be an allowance of some sort.

It’s great to finally have a 13mm amplitude massage gun

Ekrin Kestrel review: Massage Gun laying on a table and a digital caliper is Measuring the Amplitude of the percussion head
Verified amplitude. Indeed, it’s a 13mm stroke-length massage gun.

Verified amplitude. Indeed, it’s a 13mm stroke-length massage gun. In practice, it feels more percussive than the Ekrin B37S, but it doesn’t compromise the vibrations – more on this later.

For now, the percussive therapy hits are deep enough yet not overly aggressive, as you would feel with a 14-16mm amplitude Hypervolt, Theragun, or Bob and Brad D6 Pro massage gun. Most consumers have complained about the high-amplitude guns, and Ekrin Athletics seems to have addressed this here.

We like to call this the “sweet spot” amplitude, where the sports massager is not too vibrational and not too punchy either – it’s just right.

Percussions Per Minute: Speed That Heals

If our eyes got as big as saucers with the amplitude figure, they nearly popped out of their sockets when we saw the percussion specs. The manufacturer says, ‘This massage gun can rev between 1800 RPM and 3500 RPM.

Ekrin Athletics always delivers what it promises in the specs, and we often have no reason to doubt it. But when we saw this range, we said, “Alright, if you can convince us of this, we’ve got a bridge to sell you.”

In our line of work, experience reigns supreme. If something quacks and walks like a duck, in our book, it’s a duck. Now, let’s talk about the physics of massage guns—typically, a sports massager with a longer amplitude tends to have lower percussions. We’ve seen this rule play out across over a hundred massage guns we’ve tested. And in all our testing, a 13mm amplitude gun hitting 3500 RPM? Uncharted territory.

So, we took out our trusty laser tachometer and got to work. You should’ve seen our faces when the sports massager registered 3500 RPM and more when we cranked up the speed. It was breathtaking!

Why are we making up a fuss over this? Well, it stems from one principle. You see, in percussive therapy, the vibrations play a crucial role 2 3 4. They don’t just make you feel good; they also help override the muscle pain signals in the brain. This then leads to muscle tension release by increasing blood flow, facilitating lymphatic drainage, and much more.

Now, this new massage gun, with its 13mm amplitude and excellent percussion range, has become the quintessential versatile massage gun. With it, you can have a slow muscle relaxation treatment or super-aggressive for the best deep tissue massage that is enough with 13mm and 3500 hits per minute intensity.

At top speed (3500 hits), it’s so intense that you don’t even need to apply any pressure. Simply by gliding it over painful muscles, you can feel the vibrations deep into the tissue. This makes the Kestrel an incredible sports massager, even for advanced users.

With it, you can take your muscle recovery game to the next level with a warm-up massage before workout and a fast recovery muscle massage after workout!

If you use the massage gun for daily routines such as recovering after hard workouts, before-bed routines, or after-work massages, this massage gun definitely feels like a solid all-rounder. It can deliver a soothing and gentle percussive therapy massage experience – especially when paired with one of those soft massage gun attachments.

Stall Force: Maximum Power Output

Stall force is the massage gun’s motor ability to withstand pressure.

Does the Ekrin Kestrel deliver any surprises here? The answer is no.

The stall force here is about the same as that of the Ekrin B37S, which is 50-60 lbs. This is a top stall force, in case you are wondering.

It’s hard to stall this massage gun at top speed. It revs too fast to stop for anything. Did you see our video above? I wasn’t able to stop it with my hand. So, even if you are a top professional athlete, a bodybuilder, or someone with a lot of experience with professional-grade sports massagers, the Ekrin Kestrel’s stall force is just right. This would be a chiropractor massage gun!

Additionally, we noticed the absence of a pressure sensor similar to that in the B37S. However, we believe a sensor is likely superfluous for this model, given its profound impacts and high vibrations.

Performance Comparison: Ekrin Kestrel vs Competitors

With a force of 56 lbs., the Ekrin Kestrel secures its spot among the elite ‘hard massager’ category.

A 13mm amplitude hits the sweet spot and, when combined with a high stall force, offers the best deep tissue massage experience.

Our Take: on Ekrin Kestrel’s Performance

It is definitely one of the most powerful massage guns today. Its intensity, deep amplitude, and robust stall force are unmatched.

The manufacturer has pushed the amplitude and percussion setup envelope, increasing the amplitude while simultaneously ramping up the motor to deliver more hits per minute.

With these performance stats, we now have a unicorn of massage guns. More importantly, it is also the most suitable sports massager for demanding users.

Ekrin Kestrel Noise Level: Quiet Operation Explained

It is quieter than all the previous models. Our measurement results range from 50-64 dB, as seen below:

But shouldn’t it be louder, given the improved performance? Quite the opposite.

It buzzes smoothly, delivering a hushed, consistent sound. You won’t hear massage gun attachment noises, rattling due to loose parts, or a creaking when pressed against the body, just a smooth, whirly sound for a quiet massage. To hear how smoothly it operates (also compared to previous models), check out our video above.

Interestingly, at that super-high 3500 RPM, the sound is also reasonably hushed—you’ll still hear it all right, but your neighbors won’t!

Battery Life: Lasting Power for Prolonged Use

The 2500mAh battery capacity is 50mAh more juiced than the B37S. The battery is non-removable, a feature that hasn’t changed here, either. You can expect about 6 hours of operation time before you may need to charge it. That’s roughly a week or more of battery use, even when you use it daily.

As usual, we know the battery is high-quality – Ekrin Athletics always uses top-class batteries.

Even better, you can charge it with a USB-C this time—no more brick-wall chargers. This is very convenient. You can also use your phone’s cable to charge it.

How to Use the Ekrin Kestrel Massage Gun

Here are a few shots from our testing session. Expect more as we continue to test it and compare it with more sports massagers soon.

Who is Ekrin Kestrel Best For?

It is the top model in Ekrin’s lineup, boasting the best specs and most features. This makes it suitable for advanced users (e.g., for the best deep tissue massage for bodybuilding) who understand the benefits of high RPM and power.

It’s highly recommended for professional athletes looking for a comprehensive massage gun for pre-training use and, most importantly, to help muscle recovery post-exercise and aid in healing injuries.

The Ekrin Kestrel’s high frequency and sweet-spot amplitude make it ideal for trigger point therapy, massage muscle, myofascial release physical therapy, or as a chiropractic percussion tool (AKA chirogun). Its excellent design, ergonomics, and lifetime warranty also make it ideal.

But it’s not just for the pros; beginners can use it, too. If the price isn’t a barrier, it’s an excellent everyday massage gun. It offers various massage gun attachments and high-quality construction.

Just remember—it’s not designed for travel and portability. It’s a full-size sports massager, not something you can easily fit into a handbag like the smaller Ekrin Bantam mini massage gun. Frankly, in our opinion, the best option is to own both sports massagers; that’s what we will do!

Warranty and Price

Like all other Ekrin Athletic products, this massage gun has a lifetime warranty, and it’s totally worth it.

When it comes to price, you’ll have to part with $349 to get it. But here’s a sweet deal: a special discount coupon that slashes the price by 20%. Buy Ekrin Kestrel here.

Ekrin Kestrel vs Theragun: Compared to Theragun Pro 5th Gen, which costs $599, it is a steal. Ekrin Kestrel also offers more bang for your buck than Hypervolt 2 Pro. While the Hypervolt 2 Pro is slightly less expensive, it is also noticeably weaker than the Ekrin Kestrel.

Ekrin B37S and Ekrin Kestrel compared.

So, both sports massagers may look similar, but the Ekrin Kestrel brings slightly more to the table. Let’s outline the most significant differences you need to know:

Kestrel’s Performance

  • A higher amplitude, 13mm, while the Ekrin B37S has a 12mm amplitude.
  • A better percussion range, 1800-3500 RPM vs. Ekrin B37S’ 2000-3200 RPM.
  • A higher top speed of 3500 PPM.
  • It is noticeably quieter than the Ekrin B37S.

Overall Design and Other Features

  • The Ekrin Kestrel has a scroll wheel to control the sports massager’s operation. You can increase and decrease the speeds without cycling through (like in the Ekrin B37S).
  • It has a textured rubberized handle which improves ergonomics, and the metal bezel adds to it. The Ekrin B37S has none of these.
  • The Ekrin Kestrel is slightly more compact.
  • The USB-C charger and a tad juicier battery are advantages.
  • A new air cushion head is included. Ekrin B37S didn’t have it.

If you are considering the Ekrin B37S, check out our detailed review here.

Our Verdict:

The Ekrin Kestrel is the way to go! It offers the latest tech, has a whole new level of performance, and is more friendly to use. Although the B37S is slightly cheaper and may drop due to this massage gun, the Ekrin Kestrel is still worth every penny. Just look at the performance!

And if you’re considering upgrading from the Ekrin B37 or the Ekrin B37S, go for it! The Kestrel is improved where it matters: portability, charging, ergonomics, and controls. Plus, it feels great on your muscles during a trigger point massage – mainly at top speed (didn’t we just repeat ourselves?).

Ekrin Kestrel vs. Theragun Pro 5th Gen: Battle of the Titans

What about Theragun Pro 5th Gen? How does it compare?
We all know there is no percussive therapy without Theragun. But Theragun Pro and Ekrin Kestrel perhaps address different clientele. Let’s compare.

Theragun Pro 5th Gn and Ekrin Kestrel head-to-head. The value for the money lies on Ekrin’s side.

Performance

  • Theragun is a hard massager, and its 16mm amplitude punches harder—a whopping 3mm more than Kestrel’s. Some users prefer this heavy-hitting approach for the best deep tissue massage, so the Theragun is the better choice for them.
  • Ekrin Kestrel revs faster than Theragun Pro, much faster. Theragun Pro maxes out at 2400 hits per minute. That’s about a third less than Ekrin Kestrel’s percussions. Theragun also only has 5 speeds compared to Kestrel’s 6.
  • Theragun Pro’s intensity comes from the deeper hits (the longer amplitude). But the Kestrel may just be more effective because of the many hits per minute – remember the numbing of pain signals to the brain principle?
  • Both can serve professional users (e.g., chiropractor massage guns). However, in our opinion, Ekrin Kestrel is an all-rounder, meaning it can provide a soothing and aggressive massage when needed. Theragun Pro, as a hard massager, will always punch hard, even at lower speeds. The Theragun soft head may dampen the impact a bit.

Everything Else

  • The Ekrin Kestrel is a compact massage gun compared to the Theragun Pro 5th Gen – the bulkiest of them all.
  • The Kestrel has 6 massage gun attachments, and so does Theragun Pro. But if you ask us, Ekrin Kestrel’s attachments are more varied compared to Theragun Pro’s, which are all soft.
  • Theragun offers the Therabody App for guided routines and precise massage gun speed control, which may be an advantage for beginner users.

Our Verdict:

Ultimately, it boils down to personal preference when choosing between these two established massage gun brands. Ekrin Kestrel offers something unique in performance – the first sports massager we’ve seen that can hit deep and rev so fast.

And don’t forget about one important aspect—the price. The Theragun Pro is more expensive than the Ekrin Kestrel, at $599 vs. $349. Although we really like and appreciate what the Theragun Pro offers, we think the Kestrel provides better value for the price.

Final Verdict: Is the Ekrin Kestrel Worth It?

We had fun with our Ekrin Kestrel review because of the surprising features it offers.

We expected a well-executed design, an impressive look, and quality. What puzzled us was the performance. Penetrative, smooth, aggressive, and all-rounded. It’s an improvement over the previous sports massagers (Ekrin B37/Ekrin B37S).

Sure, the $349 price tag isn’t pocket change, but when you consider the performance, features, and tempting lifetime warranty, we’re more than willing to make the deal.

We needed a refresher of Ekrin Athletic’s massage gun line-up, and they more than delivered. Superb!

We checked out everything it claims to do, and spoiler alert: it’s a really great choice for the price!

Ekrin has really taken user feedback into account with this one. They’ve upgraded a bunch of stuff, making the Ekrin 365 a solid choice, especially if you’re new to massage guns. Here’s what we found out.

Who is Ekrin Athletics? A Trusted Name in Massage Guns

TIP: If you’d rather skip the details about the Ekrin brand and its massage gun lineup, feel free to jump straight to the review section.

If you haven’t heard about Ekrin Athletics, here’s some quick information. Ekrin is a small but ambitious US brand focusing on fitness recovery technology. It was founded in 2019 by Dan and Elise Kozak, two college students with a passion for fitness.

Ekrin Athletics Massage Gun Brand

Their first massage gun was the Ekrin B37, which took the percussion massager market by storm, quickly impressing many, including us. It has plenty of power, is very quiet during operation, and has a high-quality build. It’s one of our favorite massage guns.

The Ekrin B37 was followed by an even more powerful massage gun, the Ekrin B37S. It resembled the original sports massager in shape and size, with a few tweaks and embellishments (e.g., a pressure sensor).

Ekrin also released their Ekrin Bantam mini massage gun quickly after. The Ekrin Bantam tops our list of best mini massage guns so far.

But there are a few more reasons why we and other customers out there have fallen in love with Ekrin:

  • Since its inception, Ekrin has focused solely on massage guns and nothing else. It pays to establish brand loyalty with a company that specializes in one thing – there’s more focus on what you like about them.
  • They give clear information about all their products. We’ve dealt with cases of brands giving false information about their devices. For instance, we bought and reviewed the Urikar AT1, where the company overstated their massage gun’s strength (the stall force). Ekrin always delivers what it promises on its website. We actually use their sports massagers as a benchmark when evaluating other massage guns.
  • Ekrin Athletics is one of the few US-based brands that offer top-notch customer service. They have a friendly return policy and a lifetime warranty on all their products – something you often don’t see from big percussion massagers like Theragun.
  • They have pretty priced devices. An Ekrin massage gun offers greater value for money than a Theragun or a Hypervolt

But why another massage gun from Ekrin? Aren’t the other devices already good enough? Who is Ekrin targeting with this new model?

Ekrin 365: The Entry-Level Massage Gun You Need

Ekrin Athletics massage gun lineup 2021
Ekrin Athletics’ massage guns. From left to right: Ekrin Bantam, Ekrin 365, Ekrin B37 and Ekrin B37S.

Ekrin enjoyed quite the success with the unveiling of their first two massage guns – the Ekrin B37 and the Ekrin B37S. The mini massage gun, Ekrin Bantam, has also cemented its position as a serious percussion massager brand.

However, despite this success, there has always been room for Ekrin to do even better. Despite the variety in their productions, the missing piece has been an introductory massage gun—something entry-level and more affordable—something for novice massage gun users.

To be honest, although the B37 is a serious massage gun, having to choke up $229.99 (or $183.99 if you use the MGA20 coupon that gives you a 20% discount) for your first massage gun seems like a lot of money. Plus, this is above the $150-$175 spending limit for first-time massage gun customers.

The Ekrin Bantam is a cheaper option (coupon also works here), but as we made it clear in our Bantam review, it belongs to a different category altogether: mini massage gun.

That is why the folks at Ekrin thought of filling this gap by unveiling the company’s first introductory massage gun.

It comes at a better price. It’s not as strong as any of the two massage guns (Ekrin B37 and Ekrin B37S), but it’s surprisingly more powerful massage gun than many expensive choices out there.

So, meet the Ekrin 365, a massage gun designed to be your best buddy. Ekrin wants you to use it every day for 365 days a year! Let’s find out if it’s worth it.

First Impressions

First, it comes with a carrying case, just the way we like it. It’s so lovely to see Ekrin carrying on their courteous appeal.

This time, the case is grey (the previous muscle massagers came in black cases), two zippered with a nice texture.

Everything is inside the case and well-arranged, as professionals would do.

Ekrin 365 Design and Build: What Makes It Unique

It’s still the Ekrin-ish design that was introduced with the Ekrin B37 massage gun. We’re glad they chose to stay true to their identity here. Like all the previous sports massagers, it’s sleek and stylish, with a non-aggressive pastel color.

This one has a baby blue color. And we like it a lot!

It’s not the same blue we saw with the Lifepro Sonic X, which is a dead ringer for the Ekrin B37 massage gun.

We also immediately noticed that this sport massager has a longer and thinner handle with a large rubberized area (more about this in the ergonomics section).

It has the same great build as the previous massage guns, which is superb considering that it costs even less.

It has simple, intuitive controls—Ekrin has always made things simple with its sports massagers. The device has a power switch at the very bottom. We have seen a similar configuration with brands like Hypervolt, but surprisingly, this is the first time we have seen it on an Ekrin massage gun.

Another thing worth mentioning that is rather techy, in our opinion, is the Touchsense Control Panel. It’s at the very top of the device (where we are used to seeing air vents in other devices).

It works like the touch screen on your smartphone. To change the speeds, simply tap this part. Interesting!

There are no LCDs though – standard with Ekrin devices. Simple LEDs indicate the current speed and the battery charge level. Less is more!

Massage Gun Attachments

A good selling point for Ekrin massage guns has always been the varied attachments for all their devices. Varied attachments give you plenty of options when you want to massage different body parts.

This new device has 4 varied attachments. They are the same ones we saw with the B37 and the Bantam – Ball, Fork, Cone, and Flat.

Here’s what we think about them:

Ball Head

The ball head is different from the one in the Ekrin B37. It’s the softer version we first saw with the Ekrin Bantam mini massage gun.

It’s that soft. It’s great for achy joints and muscles as well.

The 365’s ball head is soft, so you can use it to massage bony areas.

Cone Head

The cone attachment is made of hard plastic (so are the rest) and is used for trigger point massage. It’s also perfect for massaging plantar fasciitis.

365 ekrin attachment cone

Fork Head

The fork attachment is for around the spine. We noticed something interesting about the Ekrin fork attachment: the two prongs are wider apart than those of other brands.

365 ekrin attachment fork

Flat Head

The flat head is a universal attachment and can be used for aggressive massage. Depending on the pressure applied, it can be used on all muscle groups. However, it’s not recommended for achy joints and muscles. Luckily,, you have one for that.

365 ekrin attachment flat

Interestingly, the attachments are not “push-in” but “push and twist.” They call them lockable attachments. The same mechanism is also used in their high-end Ekrin B37S massage gun, and in our opinion, it is a better solution than the common “push-in-pull-out” mechanism.

The instruction manual is written in good American English. It includes information on all the massage gun attachments, device specs, charging tips, how-to-use instructions, and safety protocols.

TIP: Discover how to use a massage gun (properly and effectively).

Size, Weight, and Ergonomics of the Ekrin 365

This is where it gets interesting. We have always praised Ekrin for their approach to ergonomics. At a time when everyone else was making T-shaped massage guns with boring and fatiguing straight handles, they chose to go with an angled handle.

Angled Handle: Reducing Wrist Fatigue

The angled handle helps to lessen the tension and fatigue on the wrist and provides a more ergonomic hold.

For areas that are hard to reach, like a sore middle back, the slanted handle adds an inch or two further reach than the typical T-shape design handles.

Despite their unique approach to ergonomics, we always held that there was room for further improvement. For instance, even though the handle on the Ekrin B37 was ergonomically good (in most parts), its diameter was a bit large for women and folks with small hands.

ekrin 365 angled handle

Slim, Lightweight Design for Easy Handling

Another thing that we had hoped to improve is the weight of percussion massagers. While we believe that 2.2 lbs is manageable weight for most people, it starts to feel heavy when massaging for a long time.

A full-body massage takes about 10 to 20 minutes—long enough for your hand to fatigue from holding a 2.2 lbs. sport massager. Perhaps lowering the weight of future devices wouldn’t be such a bad idea.

Great news! Ekrin has been paying attention to all these concerns and has addressed some of them in the Ekrin 365.

For starters, even though this muscle massager still has the trademark 15-degree handle, the circumference of the handle has gone down from 6.1 inches (seen on the Ekrin B37 and Ekrin B37S) to 5.4 inches – the same as the mini massage gun Ekrin Bantam.

This tweak makes the Ekrin 365 way easier to hold, even for guys with small hands.

The handle also got longer, from 5.5 inches to 6 inches. This makes it even easier to reach a sore middle back. They also increased the area covered by the rubber grip. This not only means that the device is more comfortable to hold but also that there are many grip options.

What it means…

  • The device is longer, thinner, and lighter.
  • Yes, the Ekrin 365 weighs an incredible 1.7 lbs. This is impressive for a full-sized massage gun. It’s now easy to maneuver it, and won’t feel like a toy.
  • The balance is still impressive. The battery is still within the handle, and we are glad that the longer handle hasn’t negatively impacted it. The battery size has been adjusted to reflect the change in the handle configuration.

Overall:

We are very pleased with the ergonomics of the Ekrin 365. The company has retained all the good aspects of the previous models while accommodating changes based on customer feedback.

They have made minor tweaks that make it a pleasure to hold and use the Ekrin 365 even during longer sessions. Folks with small hands, the elder and the female clientele, will appreciate these unique options on a still yet powerful massage gun.

How Powerful Is the Ekrin 365? A Performance Review

But how does the Ekrin 365 perform? Well, let’s find out.

Amplitude

Also known as stroke length, this refers to the distance traveled by the massage gun head as it percusses. Massage gun heads that extend over a long distance are said to have a high amplitude and can give percussive therapy. Devices with heads traveling over a short distance have a lower amplitude and usually only offer therapeutic vibration.

Therapeutic vibration is sound but cannot provide the best deep-tissue massage – which is what percussive therapy does. Therapeutic vibration devices have less than 10mm of amplitude.

We are glad Ekrin Athletics hasn’t compromised here. It’s still the same 12 mm stroke length as the other full-sized Ekrin massage guns.

We have always believed the sweet spot is 12 – 13 mm amplitude. ItThis amplitude isigh enough not to be vibrational – like the 8 – 10 mm devices. It’s also not as punchy as the 14 – 16 mm high-amplitude massage guns. A small amplitude allows for more percussion-per-minute (PPM), which means high intensity.

This is for you if you are looking for a universal massage gun. The Ekrin 365 massage gun can be used for a gentle massage that will not be very punchy in areas you don’t need it to be – trapezius muscle pain or sore middle back.

However, it’s still capable of strong punches that can break up muscle knots and effectively massage large muscle groups – pressing hard against the skin achieves deep tissue massage.

But since this is dubbed an entry-level massage gun, does this mean they took away much of the stall force?

Stall Force

Stall force is how much pressure it takes to stall the motor of a massage gun. This applies when pressing the massage head hard against your skin to get a deep tissue massage – especially on large muscle groups like quads. The more pressure a massage gun can handle, the more effective it can be for deep tissue massage.

Most massage gun brands make their introductory first-health massage gun less powerful in terms of stall force. You get what you pay for, right?

We expected this new Ekrin device to follow suit. The only thing that slightly concerned us was how far down they pulled this new massage gun. Turns out, we were worried about nothing.

Surprisingly, this new device is more powerful than many introductory massage guns. It’s not easy to stall it!

The Ekrin 365’s stall force ranges between 28 and 40 lbs, while the Ekrin B37’s range is 28 to 56 lbs. This confirms that it was lowered a notch, but not too much. In fact, 40 lbs. is more substantial than Theragun Prime and the same as Theragun Elite.

This is a proper entry-level massage gun. Just to be clear, the stall force is progressive. The 28 lbs. represents the stall force at the lowest speed setting, while the 40 lbs. represents the stall force at the highest (4th) speed.

We like that the advertised stall force is accurate, unlike what we’re used to seeing from other brands, which overstate the stall force in their advertising.

Overall:

Ekrin 365 isn’t the most powerful massage gun, but it provides enough power for a relaxing massage and even more when you need to apply more pressure.

Performance Parameters Comparison

Let’s see how the Ekrin 365 compares against its popular competitors.

Stall Force (lbs.)

Percussions

The percussion range has remained unchanged. The device’s specs say it revs between 2000 and 3200 RPM.

Our tests confirmed that the Ekrin 365 meets its specifications. As seen in the gallery below, our digital tachometer measured the lower end at 2030 RPM and the top end at 3240 RPM.

The maximum percussions of 3200 PPM are the same as for the earlier models. This means that this device can get pretty intense when needed.

It has 4 speeds to cycle through. That is different because we saw the Ekrin B37 with 5 speeds, and the Ekrin Bantam has 3. The Ekrin 365 gives you the option in the middle.

Does the Ekrin 365 Have a Pressure Sensor?

Yes, this “entry-level massage gun” has a pressure sensor. How cool!

Well, it works the same way as the one in the Ekrin B37S, Ekrin’s premium sports massager thus far. We do not see this often when interacting with these kinds of massage guns.

It’s a cool feature in any sports massager and even better when Ekrin stylishly does it.

Battery Life and USB-C Charging Capabilities

We wondered whether the battery would be as good as those on previous models. Because the configuration is slightly altered (and this is an entry-level massage gun), we thought it would also not hold plenty of juice.

It turns out we were right. The battery capacity isn’t the standard 2400-2500mAh but 1600mAh, partly explaining the reduced weight (1.7 lbs instead of 2.2 lbs).

Even so, this is still enough juice for plenty of massage sessions. If you don’t apply too much pressure, a single charge lasts 5 hours. But even with pressure, you can expect 3-4 hours before charging it again.

If used sparingly, you can expect the device to be juiced up for at least a few days. Regarding durability, we’ll say Ekrin has already proven itself – the Ekrin B37 battery is still going strong a year later.

365 charging usb-c port switch on/off
The On/Off switch and USB-C charging port are at the bottom of the Ekrin 365 handle.

The best part about the battery is that it is charged via USB—no wall charger is needed. This is impressive, and it was one of the first percussion massagers with a USB-C charger.

Is the Ekrin 365 Massage Gun Quiet? Noise Analysis

We have yet to see a noisy Ekrin massage gun. One reason their sports massagers are so quiet is that they keep the stroke length moderate.

The rule of thumb here is that the longer the stroke length, the noisier a device can get.

The 365 percussion massager has okay noise levels. The decibel readings gave us 52 dB at the lowest speed and about 62-63 dB at the highest speed. That means you don’t have to crank up the TV volume or speak loudly when using it.

Another big plus is that it doesn’t rattle much when pressed against the skin, as we’ve heard many percussion massagers do. Additionally, vibrations are not transferred to the handle, which is often a problem with cheap massage guns.

Price, Warranty, and Best Places to Buy the Ekrin 365

The Ekrin 365 retails for $179.99, but you can use the MGA20 coupon to buy it for only $143.99, which is 20% less. This places it as the best massage gun under $150! A very attractive price point for what the device offers.

As is customary with Ekrin Athletics devices, this model comes with a lifetime warranty. We recommend buying it from their website to support the brand and enjoy their superb customer service.

You can also read honest feedback from customers interacting with the Ekrin 365.

Who Should Choose the Ekrin 365 and Who Shouldn’t

This is a recommended buy for those just starting with massage guns and wanting a relaxing massage but, at the same time, a hard massager when required.

The 365 is a decent device that will not only do a surface-level massage but can also be pressed hard against the skin for a percussive massage. It has more than decent stall force. But it’s not just novice massage gun users that will enjoy having this massage gun, others will as well.

It’s an excellent massage gun for women and people with small hands. The ergonomics have been well thought out to accommodate the needs of such customers – we talked about its lightweight.

The USB-C charging feature is also very appealing to those who love convenience. You will also enjoy a lighter, full-sized massage gun with an extended reach and a long 15° handle.

How We Use It:

The Ekrin 365 is an excellent and all-around massager. The longer handle works great for hard-to-reach body parts such as sore middle back or trap muscle pain. Thanks to its ergonomics and lightweight, we recommend it to our beloved elderly.

…And Who Should Look Elsewhere

While it may serve others well, the Ekrin 365 massage gun is probably not the best massage gun for Pro athletes or bodybuilders with big muscles. In this case, we’d recommend the elite Ekrin Kestrel or the premium Ekrin B37S. These two can deliver the best deep tissue massage (especially the Ekrin Kestrel with 13 mm amplitude and impressive 3500 RPM).

Physiotherapeutic and chiropractor will also have to look elsewhere. It’s not just about the power: This muscle massager doesn’t have detachable batteries (like Theragun Pro 5th Gen), and its battery life isn’t as great as that of the Ekrin Kestrel and the Ekrin B37S.

If you prefer a hard massager with a longer amplitude, the Ekrin 365 is probably not your gun. The 365 adopts a universal approach that suits those who want soothing massages or a relaxing massage, and now and then, a deep tissue massage.

  • Lifetime warranty included

What Ekrin 365 has that the Ekrin B37 doesn’t:

  • Longer handle (6.0″ vs. 5.5″)
  • Thinner handle (5.4″ vs 6.1″ circumference)
  • More rubber on the handle (more grip options)
  • Lower weight (1.7 lbs vs. 2.2 lbs)
  • Pressure sensor

Ekrin B37 advantages over Ekrin 365

  • More stall force (Ekrin B37 has 28 – 56 lbs., Ekrin 365 has 28-40 lbs)
  • 1 more speed level (5 vs. 4)
  • Better battery life (8 vs 5 hours)

Our Take:

In our hands-on experience, the entry-level Ekrin 365, though a trimmed-down version of the Ekrin B37, boasted a unique approach to ergonomics that we found appealing. We discovered it to be particularly user-friendly for those with small hands, women, and the elderly.

We found it to be an excellent affordable massage gun for first-time users, thanks to its entry-level status. When we considered the current 20% MGA20 coupon, we were struck by its affordability relative to previous models.

While we recognized the Ekrin B37’s superior power – a real boon for amateur athletes seeking a hard massager – the case of paying $50 extra for more stall force certainly caught our attention.

Ekrin 365 advantages over Bantam

  • More stall force (28-40 lbs vs 28-35 lbs)

  • Speeds (4 vs. 3)

Ekrin Bantam advantages over 365

  • Portable massage gun
  • Way lighter (1.1 lbs. vs 1.7 lbs)
  • Slightly better battery life (5 hours vs 4 hours)

Our Take:

Having extensively used both, it strikes us that Ekrin seems to have borrowed a lot from the Ekrin Bantam when designing the Ekrin 365 massage gun. Now, if the Ekrin B37s and the Ekrin B37 had a baby, it’d become the Ekrin Bantam; wouldn’t you agree?

Having tested both, we found that while the Ekrin Bantam scores in portability, the Ekrin 365 offers more power while maintaining a lightweight design.

Final Thoughts and Review Conclusion

As we conclude our hands-on Ekrin 365 review, we’ve gathered several key takeaways from our personal experience.

After thoroughly testing it, we see that this new device has been thoughtfully designed with customer feedback in mind. Ekrin Athletics seems to have superbly addressed its customers’ needs, creating a device that extends its appeal to a broader user base.

The unique design elements were evident to us – the slimmer handle, the lighter weight, and the ease of holding it were all enhancements we appreciated firsthand. The ergonomics of the Ekrin 365 were a standout feature in our testing.

While the Ekrin 365 may not match the power of the Ekrin B37 or Ekrin B37S, it remains among the most potent massage guns we’ve personally tested in this category. The 40 lbs. stall force makes it a formidable contender, and from our experience, it resembles the Theragun Elite.

Although the battery may not hold as much charge as previous models, its reduced weight—a clear benefit in our testing—more than compensates for this.

Factor in the affordable price and the lifetime warranty, and it’s clear why we consider it the best entry-level massage gun we’ve tested recently. Based on our personal experience, we wholeheartedly recommend it.

If this is the one for you, get this device and use the MGA20 coupon to save you 20%.

About Ekrin Athletics

Established in 2019, Ekrin is a new brand in the massage gun scene. But, it instantly became a big name when it introduced the highly acclaimed B37 massage gun.

With its superior performance and ergonomics, it instantly became a crowd favorite. And since then, the brand dedicated itself to improving its products – and thereby introduced the B37s and more compact Ekrin Bantam.

With the mission to improve athletic performance by assisting muscle recovery and preventing related injuries, you know that the brand put a lot of thought and research while designing this massage gun.

Aside from the quality and superior build of their products, Ekrin Athletics is also known for its responsive customer care services and lifetime warranty. These services help improve the brand’s image, which is why it’s a trusted name in the industry.

Being a brand that has already proved enough in such a short period, we are all the more excited to try the B37’s awaited successor – the Ekrin B37s

Note: Ekrin has released a new massage gun, the Ekrin Kestrel, and here’s our review. Based on the specifications and pricing, we believe it could be positioned to replace the B37S model in the near future. For those interested, we recommend visiting ekrin.com to explore the new product in detail.

Ekrin B37s Specs

First Impressions

At first glance, we could easily tell that the B37s shared a lot of similarities with its predecessor, the B37.

It has the same slick aesthetics that give off a modern vibe. It even has the same satin feel to it when you hold it, which makes it comfortable to the touch.

Design-wise, we could say that the biggest difference between the B37 and the B37s is the color scheme – the B37 leans on a more greenish hue while the B37s has a lovely dark blue color.

b37 and b37s in hand comparison
B37 and B37S

While it doesn’t have a built-in screen, operating it isn’t a problem. The Ekrin B37s boasts a minimalist one-button operation, so in our test we didn’t have to worry about a complicated setup.

We were able to switch between speeds by quickly pressing the button, and you turn it on or off by pressing and holding it at the same time.

At the top of the unit, we spotted indicator lights that tell us the battery level and the corresponding speed. These lights are the convenient and less battery-consuming alternatives to a display screen.

What’s Inside

From the moment we unzipped the two-zipper carrying case of the Ekrin B37S, we could tell we were dealing with a well-designed product.

The case’s sturdy handle and contemporary printed sticker that proudly displays the brand and model, only added to the device’s appeal.

On opening the case, we found an intelligently organized interior.

ekrin b37s carrying case box
Nice packaging.

The instruction manual neatly tucked in a pocket and a molded main compartment securely holding the massage gun, attachments, and charging cable.

This thoughtful layout not only protected the components from potential damage during transit but also simplified the process of keeping everything in order.

It’s clear Ekrin has thought about the user experience from unboxing to usage.

Attachments

The B37s comes with six attachments – one foam ball, one hollow silicone ball, one flat, one fork, one bullet, and a cone.

We found the foam ball ideal for those sessions when we craved a bit more intensity, while the hollow silicone ball’s softer, squishy texture provided a gentler, relaxing massage.

The cone attachment, with its silicone tip and robust plastic base, emerged as the go-to for targeting tendons and muscles near bony areas. The silicone tip gently cushions the pressure, delivering a satisfying massage without discomfort.

The remaining attachments – the fork, bullet, and flat – made from sturdy plastic, proved excellent for delivering solid, focused pressure to specific regions. These attachments played a crucial role in our personalized massage sessions, allowing us to target specific areas with precision.

Size

In terms of its size, the Ekrin B37s is a full-scale massage gun that comes in a handy gun shape.

While it’s not a slim unit, it’s not a bulky one either. This makes it easier to move around, and the angled handle helps reach tricky areas. That’s ideal for when you’re giving yourself a massage.

At 2.2 pounds, we could say that the B37s is not the lightest massage gun in the market. It has a top-heavy design, but the overall weight feels balanced and comfortable. Overall, we’re very satisfied with its size and weight.

Ergonomics

The Ekrin B37S truly shines when it comes to ergonomic design.

ekrin b37s 15 degree angled handle
B37S has handle with a 15-degree angle.

Our hands-on use revealed just how effectively the 15-degree angled handle allows for easy reach to those difficult areas, while also significantly reducing wrist fatigue.

This thoughtful design offers a more comfortable angle than the typical 90-degree handles, enabling longer, cramp-free sessions.

The B37S’s handle boasts a substantial diameter, aiding in a comfortable grip, while the silicone-rubber grip ensures it stays securely in your hand.

However, we observed that individuals with smaller hands might find the larger diameter slightly challenging.

Build Quality

In terms of build quality, the Ekrin B37S didn’t disappoint.

Just like its predecessor, the B37, the B37S demonstrates Ekrin’s commitment to using premium, high-quality materials, promising longevity.

The meticulous engineering behind its design is evident in its layout, giving you confidence in the product’s quality and durability.

The B37S feels robust and sturdy, assuring you of its long-lasting performance.

Performance, Effectiveness, and Intensity

Now, let’s proceed to the heart of this Ekrin B37s review. We’ll now break down its key features to help you understand how it truly performs.

Stroke Length / Amplitude

We’ll start with amplitude. Simply stated, this refers to the distance by which the head travels from the base of the gun. This helps you determine how far it can go to massage your muscles.

In the realm of amplitude, the Ekrin B37S comes with a 12 millimeter stroke length.

While this might seem less compared to the 16mm offered by Theraguns, Achedaway Pro and Bob and Brad D6 Pro, our tests revealed that when coupled with a high no-stall force, this 12mm amplitude delivers an impressively deep and impactful massage.

This powerful punch helps treat sore muscles, enhances blood circulation, and aids in breaking down lactic acid.

A key advantage of this shorter amplitude is a less bulky and lighter design.

After thorough testing, we can confidently say the Ekrin B37S’s amplitude doesn’t compromise on performance.

Stall Force

This is where it gets more interesting.

Working hand-in-hand with amplitude is the stall force (also called as ‘no-stall force’). This refers to the pressure that’s sufficient to stop the motor from running when it’s pressed to your body. The higher the stall force,  the deeper the muscle penetration – and that leads to a truly satisfying massage.

The Ekrin B37S, with its stall force of 56 pounds, truly excels in its size category. Despite appearing similar to its predecessor (the B37 model), our testing showed an improved progressive system that offers enhanced power at each speed level.

At the first speed, the B37s provides you with a whooping 36 pounds of stall force, as opposed to the 28-pound stall force of the B37. At the second speed, B37s delivers 42 pounds, while the B37 only offers 32 pounds. At the third speed, B37s offers 52 pounds, as opposed to its predecessor’s 40 pounds. The fourth speed is also at 52 pounds. This gives you an idea of this progressive system.

Nevertheless, that amount of pressure is enough to deliver that deep and powerful massage that’s guaranteed to soothe and treat your muscles. You would have to be strong to actually stall the motor on this unit.

Force Meter

Another new feature of the B37s is its convenient reactive force meter. This unit has a ring of blue lights located at the top of the gun. It lights in sections, indicating the level of stall force applied.

This new feature helps you control the force you apply, so you can deliver the ideal pressure whenever you give yourself – or someone else – a massage.

Let’s see how B37s compares against it’s most popular competitors.

OUR TAKE
12mm is not an industry-leading amplitude, but combined with high stall force, it’s enough to provide a deep-to-the-bone massage.

Percussions and Speed Levels

Our tests confirmed that the B37S delivers a range of 2000 to 3200 percussions per minute across its five speed levels.

While the boosted power results in a deeply satisfying massage, we found ourselves missing the broader percussion range of the B37 (1400 to 3200ppm), particularly for those moments when a gentler (slower) pulse is preferred.

One feature we particularly appreciate in the B37S is the dynamic fifth speed level. Unlike the consistent percussions delivered in the first four speeds, this level alternates between high and low beats, creating a unique and relaxing massage pattern.

The B37S also includes LED indicators that allow you to easily identify the current speed level. The device displays five LED lights at the top of the unit that light up incrementally with each speed increase.

Even without a display screen, the operation of the Ekrin B37S is remarkably straightforward, as confirmed by our tests.

Noise

We also love how quiet the Ekrin B37s operates. According to their official release, it only operates between 35 to 55 decibels, depending on the speed level you’re using.

Upon checking this claim, we discovered that it goes slightly beyond 60 decibels. But even then, such a number isn’t considered noisy. In fact, it can be instantly drowned out by other sounds around you.

For comparison, the more expensive Theragun Pro (and Elite, and Prime) are noticeably louder, despite being advertised by Therabody as super-quiet devices.

Much of this quiet operation results from its minimal vibrations, which we assume are due to its solid and compact construction. This means operating the B37S isn’t as tiring for the hands compared to its competitors.

The B37S is quiet and doesn’t rattle when pressed harder against the skin.

Battery Capacity

Because of its cordless design, no Ekrim B37s review would be complete without discussing its battery capacity.

In our evaluation, we found that the device is equipped with a 2550 mAh Samsung-branded battery, which assures reliable and long-lasting performance. This is a standout feature, particularly when compared to lower-quality batteries often found in other devices that tend to fail within a few months.

Our tests confirmed that the B37S can operate continuously for up to about six-seven hours on a single charge (if not used on high speeds). This is an impressive feat, given the power output of the device and the energy required to illuminate its multiple LED lights.

Interestingly, we were relieved to find that Ekrin didn’t opt for a larger battery size (such as 2800-3200 mAh). While this might have extended the operational time slightly, it would also have added extra weight to the device, potentially

Price and Warranty

The Ekrin B37s is available on their website for $329.99 – a fair price for all its upgraded features and above-average stall force.

Deal Alert: It is reasonably priced. It normally costs about $250, but if you apply the Amazon coupon and the MGAD6PRO code at checkout, it’s cheaper than our top pick.

Check it out here at Amazon.

Also, we recommend buying from their website to support the brand, enjoy these discounts and excellent customer service.

But perhaps the best part about owning an Ekrin B37s is that the brand offers a lifetime warranty and lifetime customer support. You can be confident that you’ll be taken care of with this brand.

Who is it Best For?

Since Ekrin aims to improve our athletic performance, then it’s easy to see that it’s designed for athletes, bodybuilders, and similar people with active lifestyles and a lot of muscle mass. This is because of its deep penetrative capability and powerful performance.

Nevertheless, its less bulky design makes it quite versatile. That’s why we also recommend it for personal use – especially if you prefer strong massages in the comfort of home. Chiropractors and professional masseuses can also benefit from this massage gun, thanks to its quality build and superior stall force.

So if you’re looking for a premium massage gun that’s a fraction of the price of a Theragun Pro, then the Ekrin B37s is the best for you.

TIP: Keep in mind that Ekrin has recently unveiled the new Kestrel massage gun, designed to potentially replace the B37S model. We recommend checking out the detailed review here.

Ekrin B37s in use

The B37s is a versatile device that can be used by amateurs and professionals who prefer deeper, more intense massage. The B37S won’t slow down under pressure.

We are pleased every time we return to it, and that happens often because it is our benchmark device.

Ekrin B37s vs. B37

Perhaps the biggest question that’s often thrown our way is how the B37s differs from the flagship B37 massage gun. That’s why we decided to insert such a discussion in this Ekrin B37s review.

Before discussing the differences, let’s first discuss the similarities. Based on our personal experience with both Ekrin devices, we can confidently say they have the same amplitude, design, shape, noise levels, size, and weight. Also, you can use the same promo code with both models to enjoy the lower price.

B37s vs B37: Differences

  1. The B37s now offers 30% more stall force that’s spread out through a progressive system.
  2. The new version offers a dynamic 5th speed level that alternates between high and low beats that cycle between 2400 to 3200 ppm.
  3. Speaking of ppm, it has a new range of 2000 to 3200 ppm. This is compared to the wider 1400 to 3200 range offered by B37.
  4. It now features a retroactive force meter. This feature helps you keep track of the force you’re applying with the help of LED lights at the top of the unit.
  5. The B37s has six attachments, compared to the four attachments that come with the B37 the new heads are the silicone ball head and the cone head.
  6. It has a convenient lockable head design that keeps the head in place despite vibrations and constant massage movement.
  7. Visually, the B37 has a green color scheme, while the B37s offers a darker blue color scheme.
  8. In terms of the price, the B37 is a lot more affordable than the B37s.

Verdict

It’s easy to see that the B37s is an upgrade of the B37. It is built with a lot of new specs and features, and these work hand-in-hand to provide you the best massage that a gun could give.

Definitely we found the new B37s suited more towards most demanding users, who need serious power and might take advantage of the new extra features.

But admittedly, it comes with a hundred-dollar difference, which can be too much for some users. In this case, there’s no harm in settling for the more affordable B37, which is also a very strong and versataile massage gun.

Ekrin B37s vs. Theragun

When we first picked up the Ekrin B37s, we couldn’t help but draw comparisons to our previous experiences with the well-known Theragun. As we explored the B37s, it became a fascinating journey of discovering how the two devices stand against each other.

Aside from the striking difference between its design and shape, we want to dig deeper into their differences. We’ll break down the details below.

Theragun Advantages

  1. When using the Theragun, we felt a more pronounced punch, thanks to its 16mm amplitude (however, at the expense of slower percussions). In contrast, the Ekrin B37s, with its 12mm amplitude and fast percussions, gave us a slightly different but equally satisfying sensation.
  2. Both the Theragun Pro and Elite models have OLED screen, while the B37s doesn’t have a display screen at all.
  3. The Theragun Pro has replaceable batteries, making it easier to recharge (although the new, 5th Generation Pro now only comes with one battery included).
  4. Theragun models offer Bluetooth connectivity to help you keep track of your massaging progress.

Ekrin B37s Advantages

  1. Despite the shorter amplitude of the B37s, we found it to provide a stronger stall force than most of the Theragun’s massage guns we’ve used, leading to a deeply penetrative massage experience. At 56 pounds, it’s twice as powerful as the Theragun Prime and more powerful than the Theragun Elite’s 40-pound capacity. The only model more powerful than the B37s is the Pro, which is at 60 pounds – and even then, it’s not a significant difference.
  2. The B37s offers a percussion of up to 3200 ppm, which offers a more intensive massage than the  Theragun’s 2400-percussion capacity.
  3. The B37s also features a more impressive battery life. Its 8-hour maximum battery life trumps the Theragun’s 2.5-hour capacity.
  4. We must also add that the B37s operates more quietly than the Theraguns.
  5. Ekrin offers a lifetime warranty for its massage guns, while Theragun offers a 1 or 2-year warranty on its models.
  6. And finally, the Ekrin B37s is more affordable than the Theragun’s $399 to $599 price range (for Pro and Elite, respectively). And if you factor in the MGA20 discount code, you’ll be paying far less than a Theragun unit – only $263.99.

Similarities

As we spent more time with the B37s and the Theragun, we noticed that both shared some similar characteristics that shaped our user experience.

Both units feature five speed levels to deliver the best massage for different situations. Also, both units have reactive force meters that help control the stall force exerted. And finally, both units fall within the same size class, although Theragun is slightly bigger.

Verdict

Having tried the Theragun ourselves, we understand why it has such an impressive following—it truly does offer a premium massage experience.

If you’re not ready to splurge on a Theragun, then the B37s is the perfect alternative. While it has a shorter amplitude, it sure makes up for that through its superior stall force. And when you consider

Ekrin B37s vs. Hypervolt

As we delved into our exploration of the Ekrin B37s, we couldn’t help but draw comparisons with another well-known device we’ve used — the Hypervolt. Let’s first discuss the similarities.

Similarities

  1. Generally, the Ekrin B37s has a similar stroke length as the Hypervolt 2. The only exception is the 2 Pro, which has a longer 14mm amplitude.
  2. Ekrin and Hypervolt 2 Pro feature five speed levels. Hypervolt 2 has only three.
  3. These massage guns have about the same size.

Now that you’re familiar with their similarities, we can now break down the Ekrin B37s vs. Hypervolt differences.

Differences

  1. In our hands-on experience, the Ekrin stood out distinctly against the Hypervolts with its impressive maximum stall force. Hyperice guns are weaker, and slow down percussions when pressed against the skin – but not Ekrin
  2. Ekrin features five speed levels, while the Hypervolts only feature three.
  3. Ekrin has a superior battery life compared to the Hypervolt’s 3-hour maximum.
  4. Ekrin percusses faster than both Hypervolt models. It can go up to a whopping 3200 ppm, giving you more intense massage.
  5. Despite the better battery life, Hypervolt massage guns offer removable and replaceable batteries for added convenience.
  6. The tilted handle design on the B37s offers a more ergonomic feel than that of the Hypervolt.
  7. The Ekrin B37s comes with six attachments, while the Hypervolts only come with five.
  8. Ekrin B37S has better attachment locking mechanisms. Hypervolt attachments require force to be pushed in, so those little rubber gaskets that sit on attachments tend to wear down after some time. There is not such thing in the B37S.
  9. Hypervolts offer Bluetooth connectivity, while the B37s has none.
  10. The Ekrin B37s comes with a convenient carrying case, while neither Hypervolt units have that.
  11. Ekrin provides its massage guns with a lifetime warranty, while Hypervolt only offers a 1-year warranty.
  12. In our quest to find the best value, we found that the B37s offered an additional edge —you can save more with the MGA20 coupon code when purchasing.

Verdict

Reflecting on our personal experience with both devices, we can say that if you value the convenience of Bluetooth connectivity, you might lean towards the Hypervolt.

But if you prefer a more minimalist interface coupled with a better performance, practicality and a

Achedaway Pro – even more powerful.

Achedaway Pro

If your quest mirrors ours — seeking a massage gun that matches the power of the Ekrin B37s — then you might find the Achedaway Pro to be a perfect fit, just as we did.

In our experience, this massage gun offers superior performance with its notable stall force and amplitude – but without drilling a hole in your pocket like Theragun and Hypervolt.

Here are some of its notable features, as compared to Ekrin’s B37s:

  • It features a powerful motor that produces a whopping 80-pound stall force (advertised, it actually feel closer to 60-65 lbs. in our test). At low speeds, however, Ekrin B37S will be harder to stall (so it is not so rosy for Achedaway).
  • It has an amplitude of 16mm – longer than the B37s’ 12mm.
  • It is bigger and heavier than the B37s, weighs 2.6lbs. (vs. 2.2lbs).
  • It comes with four head attachments and a nice carrying case.
  • It similarly features premium parts and batteries as the Ekrin B37s, but in Achedaway battery is removable and there’s an option to purchase it with 2 batteries.
  • It similarly is designed with an angled handle, for improved ergonomics.
  • It doesn’t feature pressure sensor though, contrary to Ekrin B37s.
  • It comes with a 2-year warranty.
  • It retails for $299, but you can use MGA60 coupon here and only pay $239, or pay $309 and get it with a spare battery.

Overall, after testing both devices, we believe it’s a great alternative to the Ekrin B37s (if you don’t mind a bigger size, lower stall force at low gears, and a bit of extra weight).

Bottom Line

In our review of the Ekrin B37S, we can confidently say that it exceeded our expectations. The power it delivers, despite its compact size, impressed us.

While the Ekrin B37s shares features with its predecessor, the enhancements in engineering, performance, and design are noticeable and significant. Given our user experience and the addition of a lifetime warranty, we can vouch for the value it provides for the investment.
